Transporting Turkey for dinner....

I am cooking the Christmas turkey but taking it to grandparents house for dinner. Probably at least and hour or hour and a half before it will be eaten. Any recommendations on how to handle? Was going to put in a cooler to transport but didnt want to let it get too hot. Any recommendations on what temp I should remove from the egg? How much more will it cook in the cooler (yeti).

This is not a problem. Turkey will finish @ 165. Pull, put foil on top, let temp descend (so you know it's not cooking anymore) a few 10 degrees, then FTC .. transport.I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

Mine finished WAY early, a 12 lb. bird cooked in an hour and 45 minutes, my Thermapen reads 165+ at several different points in the breasts, higher than that elsewhere (170s). My egg crept up to 400 from 325 before I noticed, I backed it off but the cook was almost done. I have just done FTC with it, dinner is 4 hours away. Should still be OK, right?
