Ok, I haven't made chili in quite a while now. This got me in the mood. Sorta. =) I prefer the beef cubed rather than ground. So, I cubed (3/8 x 3/8-ish) 3+ lbs of beef this afternoon. By the time I finished, I decided it was too late to start the cook. So into the fridge until tomorrow. It'll probably be brown instead of red again, but it'll still be great.
If your recipe calls for paprika, go half regular and half smoked. You will like the smoky flavor. I always taste before each dump so I know how it is building.
If you have a Wally word mine carries the Fiesta light chili power. I get the 16 oz or bigger.
    Gebhardts is my fav

Thanks. I always use some smoked paprika. As I recall, it was on your suggestion earlier. :) Maybe a trip to walmart tomorrow,

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

That stuff isn't everywhere. Nowhere around here in fact. I picked up some Fiesta brand stuff when visiting my in-laws in CA. Here in PA we're lucky to get McCormick chili powder.

@DMW It usually is ion the Hispanic isle here. Not on the spice isle. If not they have a big selection on their web page and shipping was very reasonable last time I made an order.

I just looked at my local spice shop (like the Spice House or Penzeys except still unknown) and found this...

I have bought from them before, but have never seen this. I'm low on smoked paprika and ancho anyway and I know they carry both. Will swing by tomorrow. Only a few miles. :)
