Finding a PS for an old XL

i have a friend that broke his PS for an older model XL. I have spent a lot of time trying to find him a replacement short leg PS and have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know where to find one? My other question is: he has a small crack in his dome(hasn't bothered cooking) if he turns it into BGE will they send him a new higher dome?

Go to your dealer. They will work it out one way or another.

If you can't find a platesetter, for the same money or less he could get a Woo2 and ceramic stone to use for indirect cooks.  That's what I use.  Tom would be able to tell you if it fits the older model.

If it is an XL, don't short yourself, just get a AR for it. Call Tom at Ceramic Grill Store.

i gotta go with RagTop and Hotch on this one.  I wish I would have realized that the CGS had stones for separators (indirect cooking) prior to going to the bbq store and buying every accessory known to man right after I bought my first egg..  what's so crazy is that about two years before I got my first BGE, I met Tom at an industry/company function (unrelated to BBQ) and he told me about the side business he was getting going- the accessories for ceramic grills.  I completely forgot (sorry Tom!) and then got my first BGE, an XL about two years later.  Well, after about six months, I remembered the meeting with Tom and loaded up on CGS BGE accessories- all in the way of expanding my XL and newly-purchased L BGE cooking capacities.  Multi-level racks, the spiders and stones and I never would've gotten the plate setter in the first place had I not been an idiot and all gung-ho about buying toys for my new toy where I bought the BGE.

Tom will hook you up with everything you need.  Now, I am leaving work so I can go and fire up my XL for a 21 hour cook of a 15 lb (1.5hr per LB at 210F) brisket packer and tomorrow late AM i'll add some baby back ribs to the lower rack- for the last six or so hours of the cook.   Egging is one of the best things one can do....it sure beats the you know what out of playing golf....
