Rack of Lamb
On another forum they have a monthly challenge and this months challenge was " something with a bone ". I cooked a rack of lamb. The sides were parsnips and celery root mashed potatoes drizzled with a pomegranate reduction and a parsley and mint sauce. The racks were coated with some panko bread crumbs and cooked indirect with a quick sear at the end.

The lamb was cooked almost medium.

Very good Tiny ... here's pulling for you. Lamb is not that common for cooks in the states. My mother used to cook it quite a bit 'cuz her grandmother was from Scotland, but my Finnish/Italian wife says no go.

Lamb does have a slightly different taste but there is nothing better then a rack of lamb. -

I messed up a little...oh well it tasted great. The hard part is the plating. I want it to look good but I want to eat it before it gets cold. -
I LOVE grilled lamb. Yours looks great, @Tinyfish!Living the good life smoking and joking

Beautiful! My dad would love this one. I'm gonna have to cook a rack for him. I would be pleased with something half as good. Bravo!

I'm not so sure about that - lamb shank gives it a good good run. I tend to go for lamb shank before lamb chop.Tinyfish said:@Jeepster47

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
Nicely done
Did you french those racks? If you did, then you get extra credit.
Plated shot aint too shabby.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
Don't get me wrong, love me some lambda lambda lambda, and yours looks perfectly executed. "Nothing better" is a stretch.Tinyfish said:@Jeepster47

@caliking
I get half marks. The racks were frenched but I frenched them some more because the meat was too high on the bone. -

I never knew that. Lamb is very popular this side of the pond with a great flavour.Jeepster47 said:Very good Tiny ... here's pulling for you. Lamb is not that common for cooks in the states. Rack of lamb is one of my favorite things...especially with some Zinfandel to wash it down. I think you nailed the money shot.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
