How much per pound should you pay for a free range, never frozen turkey? Can you really taste the difference?

$5.99 per pound is what I am paying for a turkey from a small farm in VA. Yes, there is a huge difference in taste.

We just got a 21 pound Turkey for $5 today. Just had to spend $30 at Winn Dixie. Not free range...honysuckle white brand. But hellz ya.

Mine isn't free range, but was raised chemical free and is fresh, $4.99 lb from the farm via the farmer's market. The market stall rental bumps the price up. Don't know that the taste is so much better, but all the poultry I get from them has a superior texture. Dense, but not tough. Much better eating.
