Casters for XL Table

Other than making sure the casters are rated to support the weight, is there anything else I should be looking for? Any thoughts on brand or size? Table will be sitting on poured patio. Thanks.

I would go minimum 3" and get all four swivels with brakes, a little more $ but worth it.Central Valley CA One large egg One chocolate lab "Halle" two chiuahuas "Skittles and PeeWee"

If you want to get a look at the full spectrum of casters available then I highly recommend Caster City.

Also, if you decide on casters and table hasn't been built yet, take into account height from caster mounting plate to ground to determine shelf height, so you can get desired grill height.Central Valley CA One large egg One chocolate lab "Halle" two chiuahuas "Skittles and PeeWee"

I bought 4 x 4" with two of them locking at Home Depot. 2-1/2 years in and still good.XLBGE, Small BGE, Homebrew and GuitarsRochester, NY

Try to stay away from the air filled wheels, they will go flat. The are that have a foam inside and others that will not go flat.

I use a lot of the 4" polyurethane casters in my shop. These are also on my XL table.

They add about 5" total overall to your table build, so allow accordingly.

I got these 5" swiveling casters with brakes from Home Depot. No complaints so far. Some people like to put two non-swiveling on one side and two swiveling on the other. Personally I like all 4 swiveling.
Make sure you get long enough lag bolts to hold them in. The first time I didn't use long enough bolts and a couple of the bolts pulled out when I was pushing the table around. And you'll want to pre-drill the holes so you don't split the wood in the legs.
