I think BGE fixed upper gasket issue

So I have heard many complaint here about he upper gasket for the eggs, and that many people cannot remove their cap when hot. And I know many people remove the gasket.
but I think they hay have fixed it. I just got a brand new egg, and while the cap is tight when hot, it just takes a little wiggle to get off.
here is my large gasket

Here re is my older mini gasket, it's much thicker

My Egg has the thinner top gasket, also. I've never had a problem pulling the daisy wheel.Living the good life smoking and joking

I bought my egg used and it didn't have a top gasket. I added a new BGE gasket and it looks like the one you have pictured and it has never caused a problem when removing the daisy wheel or ceramic top.One large BGE in Louisville, KY.

My eggs didn't have them. We added them years ago thinking we were smart. Now they come stock. Were we smart then? BGE smart now?

No idea what you're talking about. My eggs have gaskets between the base and the dome. They are worthless until replaced with rutland. Gaskets at the top? Why?
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I don't have that gasket either. I've never thought the BGE needed a gasket there.

When I'm using a new egg at our eggfests that means a new daisy as well. With that gasket then it is a PITA to have to lift it off to reset the openings for temperature control. Without that gasket hindering adjustments then all you need to do is set the opening you want and then turn the daisy so the machine bolts line up!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

We install them, but I have considered not doing it and just leaving it up to the egger. I personally do not like the gasket in conjunction with the daisy wheel top. It basically renders the 12:00 bolt method difficult or useless. They did it to prevent breakage when opening or taking the cover off. Huh.RRP said:When I'm using a new egg at our eggfests that means a new daisy as well. With that gasket then it is a PITA to have to lift it off to reset the openings for temperature control.
