Well I had been a maverick man but my display went out on it a couple of weeks ago :( ... Last week Amazon had on their deal of the day's the igrill2 69.00 so I picked one up

    My maverick wouldn't connect last night (transmitter to reciever), it's time to replace as it's getting cold in Minneapolis.   Does the igrill2 meet expectations?

    @Elmer Fudd ... forgive me if I'm stating the obvious, but did you turn on the receiver first and then the transmitter?  The darn things sometimes won't connect if you turn on the transmitter first.

    I sent my igrill2 back. Couldn't keep connection inside my house about 50 feet. I really loved it when it worked but for $100 plus I wanted tknwork through my house. Some people have had better luck. 
    I ended up getting a tappecue.

    Yes ... I have used it on a brisket cook ... I had absolutely no issues with Bluetooth function or temp feed back ... The cooking temp graph worked perfectly on my iphone6+ Idevices app ... Bluetooth worked through my house Walls over 50 feet away ... The unit will shut down when you walk away with your phone or iPad and the awaken when you get back in range ... But if you like to have the entire cook graphed then you must keep your iPhone/iPad within range ... The graphing does not stay in memory

    I love my igrill2. I don't know all the in's and outs about it yet but from what I've used it for I love it.

    I always turn on the transmitter first, then stick probe in meat.  Then open the app on my I phone, and it connects every time. Won't cook without it.

    The iGrill 2 works fantastic, but don't believe that you will get 150 feet from the blue tooth as advertised.  If you are looking for something that you can do a low and slow through the night and have alarms beep at you if something goes wrong, your BGE better be on the other side of your bedroom wall.

    I love my iGrill 2, but wish I could move about the house with it.
