cream cheese? i am sitting here at work wondering what I am going to cook on the egg tonight and remebered that I have ground chuck in the fridge. Well I wanted to zip up the burgers so I was thinking of mixing the meat with some philly cream cheese. I have tried burgers with cottage cheese and liked that but wondered how cream cheese would taste with them. I have had cream cheese mixed with mashed potatoes and that was good. What do you all think.

stike, I mix my bleu cheese in with the meat. Never tried cream cheese though. Might be pretty good.

  • NorthWoodsEgger,
I have made two thin burgers, place cream cheese in the center of one along with grilled onions and then put the 2nd piece of meat on top. I then sealed the meat around the edges and grilled very carefully. Kind of like a stuffed hamburger. Tasted great.

<p />NorthWoodsEgger,[p]I make 1 lb. beef fatties that are stuffed. The one above has green pepper, salami & cheese. I jazz up the beef then add ground croutons & an egg, like you would do for a meatloaf.[p]I've never mixed cheese in with the beef for a patty... but I've made "pocket burgers" by making two patties, piling some filling in the center of one, laying the other patty on top & sealing the edges. Mushrooms, peppers, fresh herbs & cheese all work well.[p]~thirdeye~[p]

    NorthWoodsEgger,
Never had that combo.Have mixed with grated sharp cheese alone or mixed with mushrooms. Cream cheese may bit a bit runny, but will try it.Strange things happen in the kitchen.

    Wise One,
    this was crumbled on top.
i suppose it only melts when cooking (if mixed in) if it's on the surface, right? everything else stays in.[p]sounds good
