What's the nature of your problem? Overbite - underbite - side bite - lift on front or back? We might be able to help you if you tell us more up front.dougcrann said:Anybody got links to a howide to?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Lots of discussions on the adjustments. You basically loosening the bolts, realign the lid making sure bands are parallel and tighten up. Good to go. I found this. http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1186222/just-had-new-egg-delivered-have-a-question-lid-doesnt-seem-centered#latest
Ill add add that in my experience, every time my underbite appeared my bottom band in the back had slipped down when lifting the lid due to the carriage bolt lossening when heated. My solution was to after I have everything aligned and tightened was to retighten those cariage bolts after heating a bit. No issues since. Good luck.

Will go into details tomorrow....kinda don't remember which Egg had which problem. Suppose I could start with this....all the side linkage needs to be disconnected on the XL prior to adjustment of the bands, correct?RRP said:

Checked the Large with a dollar, there is drag all the way around. I set the XL up following....

Checked it with a dollar. There is resistance every place but the front. Takes quite a bit of pull to get the dollar out of the sides and back but damn near none to remove the dollar from the front.

Dollar bill test is overrated. I have very little resistance at my 2 o'clock. No problem holding a low temp and no smoke escape either. Just go with it.dougcrann said:Checked the Large with a dollar, there is drag all the way around. I set the XL up following....

Assuming you are using a gasket sold by BGE so my answer may not appeal to you, but you MAY be able to salvage it by first locating the specific low laying area(s) of your gasket and marking them. Then using a putty knife CAREFULLY lift the gasket and then using a product like Permatex Ultra Copper available at any auto parts store - and then squirt and smear a little under the low areas. It will need 24 hours to cure. I hope that works for you...but hey, I know a guy who knows a guy who sells replacement gaskets which lasts for YEARS!!!4Runner said:

No, it's yours. Again, I have no issues in practice...works like a champ and haven't looked back. I just wasn't sure after the $$ test how it would do. If I haven't heard of the $ test I would have never known the difference. So, my advice is put your dollars in the bank and not in your Egg. It will serve you better in the long run.
