Wings tonight and a couple thighs. Question??

Gonna do wings on my LBGE tonight. I'm thinking 300 elevated direct for the wings for about an hour +. I would like to do 4 thighs at the same time. How much longer at that temp for the thighs. Thanks

just did this the other night. four thighs and four quarters.
i threw them on at the same time, a bit higher maybe 325 even 350, for an hour+. my wife likes the darker chicken meat taken higher, and I think it gives me a better shot at better skin to go longer too.
the thighs were overdone in the end. i thought they'd be ok to go on at the same time because the thighs are part of the quarters, and same relative thickness
but i might suggest holding back the thighs twenty minutes or so, in retrospect.
the wife and kids liked them, but i thought the thighs were a bit dry for me.

I do wings and thighs at 400 raised indirect and am always happy but certainly there are more ways to do it. I do agree though that wings can be cooked considerably longer than thighs without drying out, so I would put the wings on later, not leave them on longer. For what it is worth at 400 raised indirect both wings and thighs have been perfect for me...if anything the thighs were a little over but not enough to worry about.Toronto ON

oops.
yeah. wings.
ignore my bit re the thighs versus quarters (which is what we did last night).
but as @simcan said, many ways to skin a cat.
we like our wings beyond crispy (to where you can eat the bones in the tip, to be honest), so that's probably beyond what many like.

@A31unit ,
Pull the wings when you think they're done and pull the thighs at 170 IT.
I work in your town and live down the road from you. Good to see a fellow South Jerseyite here.

As said above more than one way to cook a chicken but I cook chicken starting at 350ish indirect and let it creep to 450ish for the finish. Couldn't tell you what the IT is when I pull because I have been goin more for the look I like. FYI thighs can take more cooking time because of the fat content and not hurt a thing. I'm will @darby_Crenshaw on the doneness of wings. Unless your like @mickey you can't hardly over cook them in my opinion.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

I did the exact same thing last Saturday. 300ish. Thighs first for 20 minutes, then the wings. 45 - 60 minutes later done. I used to go higher, but I am liking the lower temp of 300ish, direct...Southlake, TX and Cowhouse Creek - King, TX. 2 Large, 1 Small and a lot of Eggcessories.
