OT: help me spend my travel points

Looks like a have some travel points I need to use by the new year. I'm thinking of booking a US city trip (I am in Canada) in Feb., Apr. or Oct. of next year. I was originally thinking Manhattan as I have been there twice, but my wife never has. I was also contemplating Boston, or somewhere on the east coast. I do have enough to make it to New Orleans, but not enough for Texas, or anywhere in the Southwest. We both like food/drink (she likes to shop) and some of the typical touristy type things. We both love downtown Chicago, but have been there quite often and are already planning on heading back next year. Any places recommended or not recommended?

I'm a little biased but New Orleans is good times.

Boston is nice. All sorts of history, nice places to eat, etc. Don't need a car for the weekend. Good walking city. Plenty of shopping.Large Big Green Egg in a nest. North Shore of Boston.

"We both like food/drink"...Not many better places in the US than New Orleans...and it's so not the upper East Coast so it would all be new.nolaegghead said:I'm a little biased but New Orleans is good times.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

Savannah/Charleston. Great relaxing spot, with great food.Steve

I have to say one of my favorite places to visit is Phoenix AZ....with a side trip up to Sedona. Love the southwest cuisine and the dessert. They have some great resorts in the PHX area.Might be just what the doctor ordered if you are from the frigged cold area of the world (Canada).Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax
Well, I married me a wife, she's been trouble all my life,

I vote Manhattan, and while you've been your wife hasn't so it would be new and exciting for her. Took a trip there a couple years back for a few weeks and had an incredible time.
Washington D.C. is a cool place also!22 in Macon, GA - Large BGE 2015 -
You can't go wrong with New Orleans, but Charleston, SC would be a great option as well

I love Boston. It's a smaller city and doesn't have the overwhelming feel of a New York or Chicago. Little Italy is a must.

Thanks for the suggestions. I never thought of this earlier until I saw @MJG's comment about not needing a car. This would be a huge bonus. Is New Orleans easily navigated without a car? @NorthGAcock I'm heading to Phoenix in March on a separate trip with my daughter. It will be my 6th time. Great place obviously, just really, really spread out. I'll take a look at Charleston as well

San Francisco area including Napa and such is an awesome trip as well. Bring your wallet!

You don't need a car in nola.

Prolly get some egged food in NOLA?
-
In my tourist experience, you don't need a car in NO.
I don't know if you've made it down to Tucson or not, but I like that better than Phoenix. Definitely not as shiny, but there are some nice resorts there if you're looking for that, lots of great hiking, it has an older-city vibe to it.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
I cook for visiting eggers all the time.

Charleston is Ok, but Savannah is better. Luckily they are very close so you can do both! Do Charleston first because you will never want to leave Savannah.
New Orleans is an amazing time. You should time the trip to coincide with next year's Brisket Camp to truly have a culinary adventure.XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum -

I won't hit the disagree button @Thatgrimguy but Savannah is Charleston's little redneck cousin....

BTW @nolaegghead it is plain to see you are a man who truly enjoys his time here and all that it offers. That's what I like most about you buddy.

I'm from Boston, live 15 miles north and love the city... That being said there is no place like NYC...

I've got to side with @doubleEgger here. Let me put it like this, the wife and I did the Charleston/Savannah run for our honeymoon. We've been back to Charleston twice on our own and are planning on when to take our daughter. We haven't been back to Savannah.DoubleEgger said:I won't hit the disagree button @Thatgrimguy but Savannah is Charleston's little redneck cousin....LBGE

I'll also echo something @rossv1 said, DC is a trip that everyone should make at least once. Definitely don't need a car there, and unlike a lot of other cities a lot of the tourist things you'll do are free (all the Smithsonian museums, the monuments, etc).
