When I retired the missus told me she wasn't my secretary, she wasn't making breakfast, she wasn't cooking lunch, and we were going to eat out quite a bit in the evening. Reality hasn't been that draconian, but I've come to embrace Google Calendar as an acceptable virtual secretary.RRP said:... - trust me if I remember to even post a follow up a year from now I will report in my way! ...
Set it up so that it sends you an e-mail "W" weeks, "X" days, "Y" hours, or "Z" minutes before you need to do something or be at an appointment. In your case, you could set it up to remind you on the 1st of November every year until you cancel it. Oh yes, in the notes section you could even include "http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1188332/joined-the-kick-ash-basket-crowd#latest" as a reminder of where to post the info.

Question for the MMax owners who also have a KAB and a woo/stone combo...does everything fit in the firebox? Fit is tight now, without the KAB.
In other words, can a guy use the KAB and the woo/stone at the same time?

The folks saying oxidation are spot on. High heat does that to metal. That's what the shielding gas in welding is for. It shields the molten metal from the oxygen in the air so a good weld is possible. Rust is oxidation and when it gets going it will slow down some but it will not stop. If you have water and oxygen it's just going to happen and both are present in the air. Also the residual ash dust on the surface after a cook is a magnet for moisture.
Stainless will do the same thing but it takes far longer. Eventually these will give out, but as heavy as the wire is, It's going to be awhile before it erodes enough and lets go. Awhile as measured in years...
