Put some beef short ribs on the large used a couple John Henry rubs. Set the party q and the maverick. Threw a butt on my XL primo. Haven't cooked on it in months. Lid was stuck shut. Ha ha. Hooked the dx2 up to the primo. Away we go.

Done and plated. Yum!

Great cook and nice setup, I use a Maverick and PartyQ combo too, I drop the PartyQ probe in the dome thermometer hole, use a little tinfoil to keep it where i want it.

Thanks @BIll-W221. They turned out nicely. I like to place the probe as near to the cook as possible without interfering. I have a probe tree that makes it real easy. I do notice others doing as you suggest, must work well. Thanks again.

Well with those results I wouldn't change a thing.

The ribs were nice and meaty. Really aides in a positive result.

Well I took the butt off a few degrees prior to when I usually would. I'm tired and my Cubs just beat the cards, bedtime I went ahead bd pulled it and put it in the fridge. I'll reheat it tomorrow.

Your beef ribs look delicious. Nice job.

Just curious - Why do you perfer to use both at the same time? -

pgprescott said:You basically have the equivalent of a Bluetooth controller. The party q holds the pit temp low and steady and the two probe remote thermometer reads both the pit and meat temps and transmits them to the remote unit as well as the local unit. Pretty slick and versatile. As you elude to, you can use them separately as well as together as your needs require.
