Not sure about the "egg" but that hinge looks identical to the pre-2000 BGE hinges.

Looks like the bottom vent is permanently stuck in that position with all of the paint they've got on it. Nice restoration work, fella.BGE XL- Tomball, TX

It's a very truthful post - he says "Extremely Rare for this price."
It would be rare indeed for someone to pay that price.

That is an old green egg.
-
@lit ... how do you know? and do you think it would be salvageable... for like 50 bucks?
-
I had an old mini with that same band and the older eggs the dimples were like that not smooth like they are now. I wouldn't get it due to the paint.
-
I believe it's an old Big Green Egg. It looks like it was restored by a 12 year old. The hinges look similar to my older mini

@slovelad Not to overstep but I looked at an older model a few years ago to add a second egg to the stable. I talked with the mothership about the hinges/bands. They had them but I think they were like $105 Also will need to Smokeware cap or DFMT as well as a firebox from looking at it. The paint work is atrocious You would probably be over $300 if they gave it to you....In the middle of Georgia! Geaux Tigers!!!!!
