Looking to add a Minimax!

After a bunch of research and consideration I wanna add a Minimax as a second egg to my Large. Any idea where to get better pricing than MSRP on one of these? When I bought my large I got a considerable package deal on it. Not only was it priced under MSRP but it came with an ash tool, grid gripper and 20pounds of lump for that price.
Same dealer quoted me full boat (around $598) for the Minimax with no extras. I asked why he could not discount it and include the "kit" like he did on the large. He told me it was because he would have to order the Minimax and did not stock it. I guess I understand that. I still believe I can find a Minimax for under the MSRP. If you can help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Look for an Eggfest within driving distance. Be patient unless you want to part with the bennies. Also, skip the platesetter and get the woo/stone combo from CGS.

I am on track with CGS stuff. Got the PSwoo2 & drip pan from there for my large. Couldn't be happier. Just gotta find a deal on the egg first.Step out of the way Butch

@A31unitI'm in the same dilemma, retail by me, North GA Eggfest has them for $499 but I'd spend the $100 in gas, Eggtoberfest doesn't even advertise anything but large...

Supply & Demand. You'll see some reduction in price once in awhile but, not much. Not much in the form of package deals either because they're pretty much complete out of the box. The PS works but, as others have already said I'd forgo the PS & just get the WOO combo from CGS @tjvLBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

$500 would work for me if it was close. I guess if I didn't read about some of the great deals that were had from the forum I would just throw in the towel but I'm a bargain shopper. Buy one get one half off???
. Not so much!! Step out of the way Butch -
$499? The MM cost's $599 here in Los Angeles. I'd jump on thatfeef706 said:@A31unitI'm in the same dilemma, retail by me, North GA Eggfest has them for $499 but I'd spend the $100 in gas, Eggtoberfest doesn't even advertise anything but large...
I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca. -

499 at eggfest. That's where I got mine. And yes. Eggfest is worth the drive. @NPHuskerFL drove 7 hrs to one. Maybe that's why it was so good, cause he was there.
Fish, Hunt, Cook....anything else?

When u buy an egg at one of these eggfests they are "demos". What does that mean and how are there so many demos to satisfy the demand. I'm sure they must sell a ton of these demo eggs at the fests

They are cooked on once, during the fest only. You can cook using your new egg if you want. The amount of eggs are generally limited by the fest holder. This is the only time the mothership offers a discount to the merchants and it is passed on completely to the customer. Great deal and a great time. Look into it. Usually must remove your egg the same day following the fest. Be prepared.A31unit said:When u buy an egg at one of these eggfests they are "demos". The sooner you get it the sooner you can use it. After a while you wil forget what you paid for it and most likely won't care because your using it all the time.

@Tinyfish You are prob right. No eggfests near me anytime soon so I will prob bite the bullet and get the Minimax when it's convenient for meStep out of the way Butch

Don't get me wrong I search high and low for a deal. I purchased a KJ Jr and when i did I called every store I could and no deal anywhere. I bought one anyways and I'm glad i did.A31unit said:@Tinyfish You are prob right. No eggfests near me anytime soon so I will prob bite the bullet and get the Minimax when it's convenient for me -
If the dealer had to place an order for just one unit, then their response has some merit. On the other hand, he could have offered to discount the Minimax if you were willing to wait until he was placing a bigger order. Selling an Egg, or any item, that comes in the back door and immediately goes out the front door is profitable. The dealer should have taken a deposit and stated a delivery date.A31unit said:I asked why he could not discount it and include the "kit" like he did on the large. If you want to play, you got to pay. Deals come and go, don't give your dealer a hard time because there's not a deal to be had. If you find better great he loses the sale otherwise pay up
Btw my dealer didn't want to make a deal on a large demo, i just waited it out and bought it at eggfest like I told them I would.problem solved.
Mini= full price
Large= demo eggfest
MM= $100 off deal via sale Seattle, WA -
Think about it like your house. What is the big deal about a few bucks amortized over 20-30 years. You want your dealer to be profitable and be thee for support. Believe me a dealer would have to sell a lot of eggs to keep the doors open.
-
Within reason support the dealer. If I can save $300+ like I did on a demo...you lose the sale. Amazon on the other hand I don't buy from much based on premise above. Its my local drug store bartells, and others I pay a bit more for on the stuff I used to use amazon for.Seattle, WA

Ok ok ok! Lol I will pay. The egghead mob is gonna have me clipped unless I pay! My dealer also does wood stoves and fireplaces. The eggs are only one aspect of the business. Husband and wife business. They are very nice and helpful!
