... but I am an egger, therefore, I have a pork butt on the egg for an overnight cook.. I bought a Smokeware cap that I only use when it is raining. My first cook using Rockwood that I bought from Ace (damaged bag on sale for $19.99 plus discounts totalling $10.00 - so I got it for $9.99).

why would you only use the SmokeWare when it is raining? I pitched my crappy, rusty daisy 2 weeks after I got my SmokeWare and have never regretted it! BTW this way I have consistent times and temps just using the one cap.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I just put 3 butts on my xl at 10 pm. Supposed to get up to 5 inches of rain here tomorrow. We'll see how it performs in a down pour. About 30 people coming over to watch the Dawgs and Tide play at 3:30.

You'll do fine in the rain @GaBGE, I haven't had any issues here with some significant downpours and windTHANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

The only time I'd use the SmokeWare cap would be when it's raining outside. Probably the main reason why I don't own one. I'm not saying it's a bad product but the only value to me would be when it's raining out. The only time I see any type of dome cap is for low and slows and snuffing out the fire. The OP might be in a similar situationRRP said:why would you only use the SmokeWare when it is raining? I pitched my crappy, rusty daisy 2 weeks after I got my SmokeWare and have never regretted it! I feel for you
It's been snowing and now raining and have had a pastrami on for 8 hours now. With the rain, I'm more worried about the igloo than the pastrami cook. -
Where are you that you have snow already?Go Gamecocks!!!
