Eggheads,

The other day I went to unplug my BGE Electric starter and broke it.  Instead of pulling the plug directly out of the extension cord socket, I grabbed it by the black plastic handle and yanked the cord/wires out of it (it was great having a hydra of live wires dangling around, fyi).  This action disconnected the wires from where they attach inside the handle.  I can fix it, but I am no electrician and do not know where each wire needs to be re-attached.  I am wondering if any of you can post a pic of your e-starter with the back panel removed so I can get an idea of how to rewire mine.   If needed can share pics of what i did to help you guys.  Thanks again for your help.

Step 1: throw away your electric starter
    Step 2: buy/make a better fire starter

I recommend a weed burner but there are lots of good options. In my opinion, life is too short to wait on an electric starter to get a fire going.

On mine the green wire goes to the strap the black goes to the left and the white goes to the right.

Yep, you got it. AC wiring standards are Green = ground (or earth), white = neutral, black = hot. For a resistance load like a heating coil, it doesn't matter which side is connected to hot. So as long as it is grounded properly, you could swap white and black without a problem.

Damn @DMW you're a smart mo-fo!  That's exactly what I would have said, unless it was mr grumpypants, then I'd recommend hooking the black up to the chassis.  I kid!  I kid!
