OT DP Game On! Pork Chops
DMW
Posts: 13,836
Another OT, because I used the Hasty Bake instead of the egg, but I wanted to share because the new Dizzy Pig "Game On!" is so good.
Getting things going, Stubb's briquettes and a stick of apple wood tossed in.

Chops on indirect

When they were getting close I added some butter to the cast iron and fried up some leftover baked potatoes.

Potatoes finished and I cranked the firebox up close to the cast iron. A little more butter and the chops went on the cast iron.

Got a nice crust on them and they were ready.

I can't wait until Game On! is in stores, it's really good stuff and my sample is empty.

Man those chops look great. I really like the hasty bake. I like how it is so ugly that it is purely functional. It is like an MSE series repair droid.

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Is your Hasty Bake the one that came from Amazon??

@DMW I looked into that hasty bake a little. Kind of a unique idea. Do you use yours mostly as a grill? They make some pretty big claims as far as smoking goes - does it live up to them?
edit:
Wow, just read the other thread and you got it for free?!! Do me a favor and send that horseshoe my way once it passes.

@GATraveller I only remember shīt my wife doesn't tell me.

Really appreciate you trying! Looks like it was righteously cooked with perfect browning. Thanks again for your time and comments!DMW said:Another OT, because I used the Hasty Bake instead of the egg, but I wanted to share because the new Dizzy Pig "Game On!" is so good.

Dammit!! I made the mistake of clicking on the last pic and those chops almost made me eat my screen. Fine cook, man!
The Game On! looks interesting. What did you think of the flavors? I'll keep my eye out for this one.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
@blasting - as a grill, it works like a champ. For short smoking when the weather is perfect, it works fine. For long smoking with minimal attention when windy and rainy, it's useless, especially coming from an egg.
And yeah, the price was right.
@caliking - Thanks! The flavor profile is really good, complex mix of coffee and herbs. I think it may be overpowering for things like chicken or fish, but on chops, steaks, it's great. I'm looking forward to trying it on burgers, and maybe using it to make sausage.
