Hacked handle for Yeti Rambler 30

My dear wife, my rock, my CFO, enabler of expensive hobbies, @Jaimesuggested I try the handle we use on our 24oz Tervis tumbler on the ye olde Big Yeti. I thought it wouldn't slide up high enough to be useful and the lower support ring doesn't contact the big rambler at all.
yet it worked.
My coworker took it home and went at it with a grinder and voila
I think he could have cut a little closer to lower ring for better purchase, but it was free work.
and it works well!
She mentioned this in another thread that then took off to a growler discussion.
Now, "I" have a growler..... "They don't like me, they never reply...." She does the best pouty face in Georgia and she's an import from Lima,Ohio.
Folks, this woman has fanagled our budget to hook me up with an erector set of AR metal, a cyberQ, a freakin Vacmaster 215 and carte blance at a local meat market and Restaurant Depot.
I need some "Gee @Jaime that's bitchin, I'm rushing to drop $6.95 at BB&B now". posts asap or my dream of adding a mini in the fall is toast.
So help a brother out. :-)

Very cool...
How sturdy is the handle with the lower ring cut off? Seems like a lot of weight if the cup is full.
How about wrapping the lower ring with vinyl electrical wire or para cord to take up the gap?
Thanks for posting...

@Jaime that's the way to take care of your Man. Perhaps you could do a little collaborating with Ms. northGAcock. I am trying to build some wife points myself, but can't seem to get above the break-even line. I need to work on that. Not getting much movement towards my MM.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax
Well, I married me a wife, she's been trouble all my life,

Great idea on the paracord, Another friend once did a tight weave of 60+ feet around a softish Nalgene bottle.. Left a big loop for slinging it around shoulder. Good prepper stuff. I will try cord on one we haven't cut upPhoto Egg said:Very cool...

I haven't seen a Tervis handle with a diameter apropos for the 20 oz.. Check Tervis site before a trip Dave.DaveRichardson said:..... taking my 20oz rambler to BB&B to see if it'll fit the 20 as well!LBGE, AR. Lives in N.E. ATL -
Surprisingly sturdy - I fill it to rim with ice tea or Jack/Coke and it does great. I didn't think it was high enough to the rim but it's flat and if You pull it up snug you get enough surface area to hold it well. I can invert it to drain melted ice, shake it etc.Photo Egg said:Very cool...

@DaveRichardson
Hmmm. Looks like there Is a smaller handle for the 16oz tervis. Yeah, a test fit is a good idea
Try before you buy this one

@swordsmn - Just wondering out loud here, but I wonder if that handle was heated up in an oven if it could be stretched to a larger diameter so as to fit higher up on the YETI. Since you had the fellow cut off the bottom circle anyway why not ask for it back and see if it could be heated and stretched?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

The store I got my yeti from has the tervis handles also. None of them fit correctly without modification.

Another good thought there @rrp. might just try some heatLBGE, AR. Lives in N.E. ATL

I tried the same thing at the store I bought mine. But never thought about making mods.Lit said:The store I got my yeti from has the tervis handles also. None of them fit correctly without modification.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Gee @Jaime that's bitchin'. If I had a Rambler, I'd rush to drop $6.95 at BB&B now.

Well, it's not perfect for the 30, but it is serviceable. I may try RRP's suggestion to heat it to get it higher, but I needed a handle and by golly it worked. Won't win a Ga Tech design award but I'm not trying to get on Shark Tank :-)LBGE, AR. Lives in N.E. ATL
