Homemade Burgers & BBQ Sauce

Great way to end off the labour day weekend. I cooked these burgers hot and fast over direct heat. They picked up a hint of the Hickory flavour (Left over chunks from previous cook) which was a nice surprise.
The burger patties were 2 parts beef, 1 part pork. I added onions, garlic, holy cow seasoning, Worcestershire and S & P.
The BBQ sauce was rip off of Aaron Franklins recipe with the addition of Molasses and Bourbon
I topped it off with Provolone and toasted some fresh onion buns I picked up from a local bakery
I'll take a good burger over most meals.

Whoa -- spectacular looking burgers! I've never mixed pork and beef in a burger, just meat loaf and sausages. Might have to try it sometime.

It works really well for setting up 2 zones. I use it mainly when cooking steaks, starting with a good sear on both sides and moving it up and over to bring to temp.
