Mapp torch, where have you been all my life? I've been using BGE starter cubes this whole time, the torch is amazing!! Found a good deal at Lowes and picked it up. So much easier, no chords or red hot accessories to deal with, gas may be a bit pricier but convenience is worth it for me.
Also, thanks to @EggsbytheBay 's Smitty for recommending some orange wood, exactly what I was looking for! Very light smoke, awesome flavor and great for chicken and fish. Highly recommended for those sensitive to smoke (swmbo approved)
On the egg: @RRP georgia reds , slightly modified (more on this later)
In the coozie: lagunitas sumpthin special ale
Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!! Hope everyone's enjoying their long weekend!

My Georgia red wings. Skipped the 4 hour brine, straight into the marinade for 48 hrs, onto a cooling rack overnight in the fridge with a sprinkle of habanero death dust, on the egg for 45 mins @400 indirect and they're amazing!!!!
Next time I'll go with the brine, without the brine the marinade didn't soak as deep, but next time I'll add the brine and follow this same method ( out of marinade in the fridge) and they'll be perfect!!! The skin was as crispy as can be and flavor was absolutely on point. @RRP would be proud! One hell of a spot on recipe.

The Orange lump is a popular seller to those looking for less smoke flavor. Some new Egg owners can find the Egg can be overwhelming at first, so we offer a lighter favored lump for those who wish to back off on the flavor. I prefer Oak lump myself.

Technically, it's not MAPP gas, but it does start fires, so it's all good.

In the spring of 2008, true MAPP gas production ended in North America when production was discontinued at the only remaining plant in North America that still manufactured it. Current products labeled "MAPP" are, in fact, MAPP substitutes. These versions are stabilized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) with high levels of propylene.[1]
