Big day - brewing & smoking

I've been planning this day all week... brewing a breakfast stout in the garage and smoking a 6-lb pork butt for burnt ends out back. I've just placed the butt on the countertop... going to remove the fat cap, cross-hatch & rub it while I've got mash water on for the beer. I'll fire up the Egg with mesquite & apple chunks and the butt should be good through at least noon. During that time, I should be able to mash out & start on the boil. I'd like to get the boil done with before I have to pull the pork to cube up, but we'll see how that pans out.
The biggest (potential) hurdle is that my wife is pregnant with our first child, due Wednesday. So I'm hanging it all out there to get a beer and a meal done today. Either way, it'll be a good day. Photos to come.

Ohhh, you beauty.
Fat cap gone, more or less.
Rubbed half-and-half... Runnin' Wild Peach rub on one half... salt & pepper on the other. My other half doesn't like "spicy" rubs. Meh. I'm probably also going to mop with some Carolina BBQ sauce on that half.
I really don't know whether this is like pissing in one half of a hot tub... but in this case, the effort is what matters.LBGE | CyberQ | Adjustable Rig | SmokeWare Cap | Kick Ash Basket | Table Build | Tampa, FL -

2 oz of Kona. I put it in a little early by accident... at 45 minutes in a 1-hour boil. I might put some in the keg after fermentation is complete.
I put the butt on at 8:30am. It's at 156 deg F according to CyberQ.LBGE | CyberQ | Adjustable Rig | SmokeWare Cap | Kick Ash Basket | Table Build | Tampa, FL -
These were really good. And I've got leftovers for later in the week.
