Grilled Bloody Marys

Mrs BGC and I cooked at Saturday's Heart of GA Eggfest in Gray, GA. We met lots of good people and had great conversations. It was an absolute great time!
In the tradition of Eggfest, we started the morning off with a chilled beverage, a Grilled Bloody Mary.
I started the cocktail by roasting a red and orange sweet pepper, a pablano and a couple hatch chilies, sweated the charred skins off in a ziploc bag, tossed them into a pitcher, poured a bottle of vodka over top, covered the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerated for almost a week. I strained the mixture through cheese cloth to remove any bits and pieces before serving. The vodka had a great peppery bite that was perfect for a bloody mary. We garnished it with a stalk of celery and a Slim Jim. It was definitely a hit!
We also served Maple Bacon Oatmeal Cookies, Sweet Thai Chili Pork Tacos and a couple Paellas. The staff at Ace of Gray hosted a great event and were extremely accommodating. I'm already looking forward to next year!

I love Bloody Marys. I love grilled peppers.
This looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I like the idea of grilling the peppers. There is a restaurant near me that keeps a large container behind the bar of vodka packed with a wide variety of peppers to infuse pepper flavor and heat. I've had that in a Bloody Mary and to be honest, I couldn't taste it, but the heat was there.
Zing Zang is great mix, lots of flavor already, could you taste the peppers from your vodka above the mix?THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
You could most certainly taste the grill and the pepper flavoring in the bloody mary. I tasted the vodka at every 24 hour interval during the infusion. Every taste increased in pepper flavor.Legume said:I like the idea of grilling the peppers. I've read that cooking the alcohol with the infuser in sous vide helps speed up the process. I may do some testing in the future. -

Thread rehash: Brilliant idea! Imagine the grilling possibilities; tomatoes, pickles, celery. I thought you were grilling the veggies to go as garnishes, but this is even better. I will grill a slice of Spam as a Bloody garnish. Well done.

Nice! Been contemplating trying Anovas bacon infused vodka via sous vide for the same purpose.I Like the bottle as well Ive never seen a 60lb'er of Titos before.

I don't know how this resurfaced, but I know what project is going to be brewing in my fridge this weekend.
