How to cook (homemade) frozen burgers?

how to cook? I usually do fresh burgers using the 2-2-2 method on 550°-600°. However, I have a bunch we made fresh 2 weeks ago for a cookout and froze the leftover patties (still raw). Doubt they'll fully thaw before we're hungry, what's the best method?

Your burger chains do it all the time. I might guess yours are a little thicker. You can cook from frozen state but the thicker they are, the more char you are likly to have getting them up to temp.....unless you like them med rare like I do. You might also be surprised how fast they thaw if seperated.

I think I would consider a reverse sear.  Cook indirect until they are defrosted.  Maybe take them to 120-130 and then switch to direct and finish them off.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I cook frozen burgers the same as thawed, crank the egg up to about 500-600 sear both sides for a couple minutes then shut down all the vents until the middle of the burgers are at my desired donenes around 145

  • Used to cook frozen patties all the time on the gas burner grill.  Couldn't tell the difference in taste or texture.  But I don't like them red or pink in the center either.  Steaks are different, I do like a nice crust and a bit of pink in the center.
  • I don't know why I don't know this but I've never heard of the 2-2-2 method. What is it?
  • I toss some firebricks on my ring and raise the grid over the gasket and cook low and slow till they start listening I king like burgers and less like hockey pucks. Then once I start seeing them juicing, open wide open and finish to your liking.
