Bachelor Ribeyes

The scenario: the wife is away for a week visiting friends, and I'm taking some time off to do whatever I want whenever I want..........but I'm being good.  :)

The cook: Two nice ribeyes nice and simple - dressed in nothing but salt and cooked 500 direct for 4 minutes a side. If my dog was still with us, I would give him one.  :)

Nice looking grub. I am envious of your situation.  Karma appreciates your gesture to a dog you no doubt miss.

I will take steak with a side of steak!  Man meal!!  They look great.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    Thanks!

@MJG - My wife does this visit every year, and I would always cook steaks for myself and my dog. I still miss him.......he was a great friend and I have many fond memories.

That's awesome.  I haven't ever told my wife this but when she's away it's like a mini vacation for me.  No kids.....no wife.....just quiet.  And I'm so wild and crazy I binge watch Game of Thrones, paddle my kayak, eat 2 ribeyes =) and smoke cigars. Dang I'm getting old.  =)

@GAtraveller and smokingpiney, you two speak the truth. My wife does a girls trip every year and leaves me with the kids. I love having their undivided attention for a few days at a time, it's like I'm superdad all of a sudden. But then, once a year she travels to Florida to visit her folks for a week and takes the kids. I love cooking steaks multiple nights, golfing or fishing till dark, sleeping on the couch till the wee hours of the morning with the TV on etc. It is a vacation.

Agree. It's time to myself to hang around the house and not worry about a thing.

    Truth be told................I miss her.............but I'm having fun.   :)

I have to admit my wife just got back from a long weekend and i had three lids and a new pup and still got more done in a weekend than i do in a month. When she is away it is time to do projects and cook on the egg.. I did the yard, weeded beds, bought a new trimmer--stihl--put in all new lights outside and still cooked every night on the egg.
