Need some advice for a cutting board for my outdoor grill table.

Guys I need some advice. I'm picking up my double grill able this weekend and I'm trying to figure out what cutting board to go with. I can't decide wood or plastic. What are you guys using outside?
I have a boos block that I keep in my kitchen....so I know how great the wooden boards can be--but am leaning towards plastic so I can keep it on the (covered) table all the time without any worries. It would be one less thing to haul in and out of the house and store.
Im interested to hear what you guys use for an outdoor kitchen cutting board. If plastic, Any suggestions on a large, well-made plastic cutting board that will meet my needs?

I haul mine in and out. With raw meat on it it's gotta be cleaned anyhow.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Did you spend the money on a top quality board or go a little cheaper since its for outdoor use?Jeremiah said:I haul mine in and out. With raw meat on it it's gotta be cleaned anyhow.Augusta, GA

I like the large white plastic ones from Sam's.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

Restaurant supply store has 24x24 for around 25 bucks. Plastic. Wood will split, they are not made with waterproof glue.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

Plastic. Less maintenance and worries about it getting messed up or warped.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

Yes, plastic it's so versatile. Cleans up easy my.

Sanatec High Density Polyethylene - aka plastic. My husband is a regional sales manager for a plastics distributor. He brings lots of this stuff home for me. Free is always good.. Honestly, it's he best cutting board material ever.BGE novice...A Southern Belle living in Seattle.

I have a few large bamboo cutting boards that were fairly cheap. Don't get plastic.

get the wood board, simple edge grain inexpensive one, not a good end grain, and store it indoors. had to use plastic this weekend for chopping a big pile of herbs, the wood works night and day better and faster at chopping and slicing herbs over the plastic, you could literally see and feel the difference

Question I have is what is your purpose of the board? If its just for transportation from kitchen to grill to table, or will you be actually using it as a cutting board outside?

It'll be for cutting. I picked up the plastic one from SAMs ..but will also use my wood board. I picked up my table on Saturday and it is huge--plenty of room.DaveRichardson said:Question I have is what is your purpose of the board? Got to be honest, I used and washed the BGE cutting board when I volunteered at the BGE Culinary Center for a class.
Wooden, big, sturdy with a BGE Logo, of course. May be pricey but I liked to quality, look and feel of itlNew Albany, Ohio -
I like the Big A$$ white plastic boards at Gander Mountain. Main reason: $25 bucks and the weather won't destroy it! After a few Rambler's of choice beverages, I'm likely to forget it and it'll get rained on and destroyed be the GA weather!
