HELP! I LOST THE CAROLINA BBQ RECIPE!!!
Sorry, I went dark for a while (I have had a cough for like 3 months I can't shake, it has limited my grill time). But I sucked it up 3 weeks ago and cooked an 8lb pork shoulder and my crew freaked over it. I know this may be a long shot (you never know with you guys) but the recipe came from the forum and I had the link saved to my phone and my phone crashed...the week that I was writing my recipe book.
I was looking for a Carolina BBQ recipe and the link I was on sent me to a guy's page (the background was black, words were white, the explanation was folksy and talked a lot about drinking Jack Daniels during the process. It also had a few recipes for Carolina slaw and all. Cooked low, like 210-225 for 14-16 hours. Does anyone know where I can find this link?
SIDENOTE: Is there an app I can put on my phone for this forum?

When I saw the part about Jack Daniels, I thought it could have been me, but when I looked I couldn't find any recipes I posted for slaw. And my page isn't black with white words. At least not anymore. Was it done on an Egg?

Vinegar & pepper just ain't good. maybe some of the western Carolina with tomato is passable, but only barely. TX, KC (except Gates as it is more Carolina-ish) are very acceptable. Now, creamy coleslaw is great, oil/vinegar on cabbage is NOT coleslaw. I have an Avanti 9" heavy-duty slicer that shreds cabbage super fine and makes some of the BEST coleslaw. Don't use store-bought "coleslaw" dressing (Yuck!! and it has more preservatives than you really want). Mayo (Dukes!!!), red wine vinegar, sugar and celery seed all to taste. I also may substitute white wine vinegar or even rice wine vinegar for a much sweeter flavor.
