    I'm not so sure about the weight gain part. I cross my Angus with Herefords to get the weight gain and better marbling. They are both great steers.  I also put a feeder out so the calves can get on grain to go along with milk as soon as they are ready.  The calves are black with whit heads and are call Bald Face. They usually bring top dollar at the stock yard. Right now we are getting around $1400 for an 8 month old calf that weighs between 600 and 800 pounds. From there they go to the Feedlot.
