Holy crap, if you like root beer, this stuff is fantastic. Oh, and it's 5.9% abv, so it packs a punch too.

It also packs a paunch. 300 calories per bottle.
-
I haven't tried it. The label says 10% ABV so be careful!

<edit>
I see they actually have two versions. A 5.9 and a 10.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Yeah, I haven't tried the 10% version.SmokeyPitt said:I haven't tried it. The label says 10% ABV so be careful!

Luckily it's a beer you only drink 1 or 2 of. Or at least for me it is. Uncanny how much it tastes like root beer though.Eggcelsior said:It also packs a paunch. 300 calories per bottle.

That's why I like the 750mL bottles. 1 or 2 of those at 9+% ABV gets you where you need to be quite well.SmokeyPitt said:

I like the Coney Island Root Beer a little bit more than this one... Very tasty. I was mixing it with some vanilla vodka last night LOL... like a turbo charger

My wife and friend made root beer floats with it 4th of July weekend. I can have one or two before I need to switch it out with another beer. It's crazy how much it tastes like root beer and stronger than most domestics"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. My thoughts exactly.WeberWho? said:My wife and friend made root beer floats with it 4th of July weekend. I can have one or two before I need to switch it out with another beer. It's crazy how much it tastes like root beer and stronger than most domestics -
I had it, it is good, but I'm not buying a six pack of it - not my style.
-
I'll have to try and find that stuff.
I've been mixing rum with rootbeer with a squeeze of lime, on ocassion. Not bad.

how easy it to find? I mean is it just a regional thing from a "small town brewery" like the label says?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

They have a 19% abv as well, not sure if they bottle it.
-
We get it in the Indy area but it's always sold out before I get there. Looking forward to trying it

Found it at Kroger yesterday. $10 plus tax for a 6 pack. Had my first one today for lunch along with a ham sandwich. IMHO it tastes just like what it is - a spiked root beer and has a back door taste. I mean root beer at first and then a kicker not as pleasant aftertaste. To me it must be an acquired taste, but with 5 more to try I'll have a better assessment. I was surprised at the wallop it has for only 5.9% alc/vol.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I tried it and hated it!
My cousin raved about it but he is a beer drinker. I hate beer, so the backend beer taste bothered me. Like yall, he said it tasted like root beer, so I put too much stock in that statement. I gave 5 bottles to my neighbor and he was very happy! I'll call that a win!Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -
+1. I have the same 5-pack in my fridge. It is free to a good home. You haul.cazzy said:I tried it and hated it!

I talked to the local distributer and they are not sending anymore out for next 30 days until they can meet the demand for it.
There is 3 different versions, Not your Father's at 5.8% APV, Not your Grandfather's at 10% APV and your Great-Grandfather's at 18% -
Wife @HuskerMaMa and her friends like it along with a few other brands of hard root beers. We made some floats with it and I've gotta say they were pretty decent.

One of those, a shot of vanilla vodka, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream make a great root beer float!

Walked past it today at the grocery store. I almost bought it for my son who loves root beer. Then I actually read the label....I would have been in the dog house for sure...ya, he's only 14.
