Full disclosure- the Nathans was on the clearance shelf at my grocery store and near the sell by date.

I love this list, but didn't see the "southern dawg". Dog, bun, mustard, onions, chili, and of course slaw!! Some leave off the chili. I've never seen their version of the Georgia dog actually on a menu in Georgia. But it sure looks good.

@KSMYRL - it is a Columbus GA only thing I believe.  I might have to make a stop here on my way to FL sometime.

@Smokeypitt that does look good. The timing of this thread is perfect for me, I'm going to a chamber of commerce lunch in a couple of hours. It's catered by a group in Covington, GA called "Just Dogs". They will have all the fixins on the hotdog buffet. I even put on an older dress shirt this morning just in case (no kidding).

Kinda surprised there's no corn dog, ...
It's funny, about once a year I get an incredible craving for corndogs, and I pick up a boxful out of the grocer's freezer.  And while I believe ketchup DOES NOT belong on any kind of hot dog, it's the ONLY condiment for a corndog.  Yeah, weird.
Of course, even the lowly corndog can get Premium Treatment:

Shortly after I discovered Pearl hot dogs, THE best ever, I found that I had to start watching my sodium and sat fat intake. Unfortunately, a single 1/4 lb Pearl dog has nearly 1000 mg of sodium!!! Sigh. I haven't had a dog in over two years now.

Lately, I have been considering making my own from scratch. I doubt they would taste as good, but I can control the sodium and they would have to taste better than NO hot dogs, right? Plus, no eyeballs or toenails or other odd bits to worry about. :) We'll see.

Toppings? Deli mustard, onions, beef chili (or pulled pork). Sometimes Bomba if I have it. Period. Absolutely no ketchup or pickles! Or pineapple!!! And someone mentioned okra?!

Time to find a stuffer and some natural casings and give it a try!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

For corn dogs the proper condiment is ketchup and mustard swirled together.

Maybe ketchup wouldn't be so bad:
