My buddy actually bought food grade sodium hydroxide to make authentic pretzels. Nice. It's one of those very simple recipes that is all execution. Like bread. If you can master it, you're a special person.

i have a bottle at camp, really like it over the baking soda dip. do not use it in an enameled cast iron pan, it eats right into the enamel, turns it to sandpaper. make sure to use stainless onlyits funny to see the words food grade and the poison skull symbol together on the same bottle
