Daisy Wheel Handle Missing

I purchased my Egg from an Authorized Dealer, but it was "used" and missing the handle from the daisy wheel. I emailed BGE, but they don't offer a replacement handle. Anyone know where I can get one. I know I could probably fashion one from a coat hanger, but I'd prefer to stay OEM if possible. Thanks!

If you want OEM you will need to get the entire DFMT. I would buy some stainless wire and loop it through the ends and twist them off to create a handle. Or, just get a Smokeware cap and be done with it. There may be some guys here thet aren't using theirs and will just give you their handle?

They work fine without handles. The older version never had a handle.

My dealer says he sells several Daisy Wheels every year ... they break when dropped just right. He might save the pieces for you or put you in touch with the last person he sold one to.

You do understand the Daisy Wheel is not needed. 4 Eggs and zero Daisy WheelsSalado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I've seen a lot of BGEs with the Chimney Tops. I've been controlling temp by adjusting the daisy wheel and the bottom vent (mostly bottom) but is it just as easy to control with the chimney? I don't see how I could keep the temp low (~225) without the daisy wheel.
