I think I need to replace the dome thermometer of my XL BGE. I'm looking for recommendations on whether I should get a another BGE thermometer or some other brand such as Tel Tru.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Don't know how old yours is, but it may be covered under the warranty at your dealer...mine was. Also, pretty sure the BGE thermometers are Tel-Tru's.Houston, Texas

Mine is 3 years old. Thanks for the input.

BGE uses TelTru now. They haven't always. Have you tried calibrating the one you have?
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Take a look at the thermometer for the XXL, you can order it thru your BGE dealer ... It's freakin humongous!I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

Hi Carolina. I did originally. I guess I should check again.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. My BGE thermometer is a Tel-Tru. I recalibrated today. Hoping for the best.

Carolina Q said:You don't need "big". Just rotate it so your target temp is at 12 o'clock. Even though you may not be able to read the numbers from a distance, you can still see whether or not the needle is pointing straight up.

My xl came with a real small thermometer. I hated it was to small, I bought a 3in. Diameter big egg thermometer and love it, it's a tru-tel.
