First Try at Two Butts

18 pounds of pork ready to go on the LBGE.  I've never tried two at once before but it always seemed like it would be a lot more pork for not a lot more work.  So far that's true - I hope I feel the same way tomorrow afternoon :)

I have some leeway on time but I am "hoping" to pull off the Egg at 3 pm - with the biggest butt at 10.5 pounds, I am thinking this is a midnight start.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Everything stabilized at 228 grid and the butts are on at midnight.  It was a tighter fit then I expected despite moving them around to find the best position.  I expect they will shrink plenty enough to create an air gap between the two. At least I hope :)

And just because there is a weight difference, don't assume that the larger one will take longer.  While that is generally true, each will cook at its own pace.  FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Lousubcap - I had assumed bigger butt = longer time, but you are right.  The larger finished at the same time if not a bit earlier than the smaller.  I was really surprised by that.

    They look good. Nicely done.
I raise my kids, cook and golf.  When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.
Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.
