@rossv1 The Thermapen will take readings within three seconds. (When searing steaks at 1,000 degrees you don't want your thermometer to take 10 seconds to read each steak) You can buy other thermometers for cheaper that will take temperature but it's nice knowing you have a tool that can read temperatures quickly and accurately. You can buy the Thermopop (Thermapens cousin) for $30 that will give you a reading in 6 seconds.rossv1 said:Thanks everybody!
snoqualmiesmoker, watches are my main passion. I inherited the love from my dad and haven't looked back. Lol
I'm going to get a Thermopen asap. From what I've seen everyone here seems to have one. One question though, is there any reason most go with that over the BGE version or the competitors?
If you jump on it now Thermoworks is offering the teal Thermapen at a closeout price of $79. Normally $97. I just picked one up for my sister and husband for that price. I've been egging a little over 5 years now and the Thermapen has been hands down the best accessory that I have purchased for the egg. It's a must in my opinion"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan
