We caught a small marlin this weekend. Marinade

in some korean bbq sauce and using kiawe wood for smoke.

wow. I wish my small catch was 1/3 that size. Can you tell me a little about the kiawe smoke wood, in terms of flavor.

@bgebrent thanks, my dad's boat is super lucky this year. If u lived near by, I would definitely share some with u. In fact all of the marlin went to me and my brother. We also caught 2 wahoo. My dad took most of the wahoo and he didn't want any marlin.

@ryantt kiawe is very similar to mesquite. Very strong flavor and smell.

There was a time when I used Ono almost exclusively for my beef cooks. Great flavour profile and loved the slow controlled burn.

I've never tried Ono or any type of kiawe charcoal but it is on my must try list.
