OT Big thanks

Want to give a big shout out to our American (and our Canadian) brothers who have left their families and homes on the 4th of July to come risk their lives helping us northern folk fight the wildfires that are destroying much of our north country causing many people to lose homes and cabins.  From what I understand there are USA firefighters directly involved fighting the fires and also some who have came up to help man some of our parks so our own firefighters can join the fight.  Some may or may not know but our wildfires have been so bad that our smoke has made it all the way down to Kansas or further.

Most of these men and women have been fighting these fires in terribly poor conditions for many days with very little sleep trying to protect our communities. Last night a large storm came through with high winds causing previously contained fires to go out of control and forcing the firefighters onto lakes and out of the fight.  As a person who has a family property that these people are trying to protect we would like to give recognition to their bravery.

Thank you

There are so many men and women who are working tirelessly at this very moment so a majority of us can float on a lake, swim I  a pool or just bbq with family. My hats off to all of them. May God bless them and keep them safe. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for posting this! Lots of similar stories in Texas with all the floods on our Memorial Day in late May, tons of volunteers helping their neighbors. I have a friend still doing volunteer work helping people who were impacted, the needs continue long after the disaster occurs. Truth is we're all in this together, and lots of really great people out there! God bless, and stay safe.
