Is Cracked Base Worth Anything
Offpiste
Posts: 47
Have cracked large base. Crack is hairline that runs 1/2 way across bottom and 1/4 to 1/3 the way up one side. Can hardly see on outside unless hot then can see hairline crack. New Rutland gasket less then 20 cooks. Was using it until warranty replacement was received. Is it worth anything to someone or should it be made into an interesting planter?

Throw some JB Weld or hi temp epoxy on it and can use it for low temp cooking or smoking. I won't use mine for grilling or higher temp cooks like making a pizza. I also bought a small pizza stone for the base to act as a heat shield. Its been working for me.LG BGE, plate setter, highQ grate, Ceramic Grill Works 2 Tier rack, Smokeware SS vent cap, BBQ GURU Party Q, super fast Ravens purple Thermapen and Maverick ET-732
