Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to change your username on here?  I set this account up a while ago and have since setup accounts on YouTube and Instagram as BBQ Tom.  I'd love to change my username here to that but when I edit my profile it won't let me and I can't see contact info for who to ask.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

No, but luckily you only have 14 posts here, so you don't really have anything vested. Make a new account with new name.

You've only got 14 post. Just abandon it and start over. I wish it was an option though. I just picked part of my email when I signed up because it's frustrating coming up with usernames for everything. didn't think I'd be that active on the forum

Thanks for the quick responses guys!  I had such a hard time getting my account active on here that I'm weary to try and get a new account activated.  I think I'll just keep the username.  I setup links in my signature pointing to my IG and YT accounts.  It's not like I am famous and need to maintain a "brand"  :)

In all reality though, it should be something the forum allows. I mean think about it, in today's world people can change everything and anything about themselves. You can always call the civil rights people to help you out.

Go ahead and try another account. The first time I signed up here it was taking forever. I tried signing up again with a different username etc, and it only took a day to get approved and active.  The approval process seems to be quite variable.

Setting up a new account took a lot less time this go around.  Now, how do I delete my old one?  :)

No, not truthfully descriptive names ... geez.  There have been a couple recently that went way over the top into pornographic posts and name calling.

No, thats true.  You need to lie too.

I say we flag the sh*t out of the @BBQ_Tom account and get it deleted so he has to go back to the @biggreentom account.

That wouldn't be very nice. Especially since all the other cool names, like @Legume, are already taken.

fwiw, I have/had a touch of screen name remorse as well, when I picked legume it was my third try at getting an account setup and I was tired of trying to be creative.  like saying a word over and over again, it's now lost all of it's original meaning for me.  my name is meaningless.

@Legume when I read your posts I imagine a butter bean talking to me.

Hmmm. How many of us have more than one account? Sort of a Clark Kent / Superman bi-polar Stephen King / Richard Bachmann thing?

I admit it, this is my nom-de-plume, I'm actually someone else much more interesting on my other I.D.

BBQ is a celebration of culture in America. It is the closest thing we have to the wines and cheeses of Europe.

Drive a few hundred miles in any direction, and the experience changes dramatically.

As long as you don't hold conversations with your two screen names, remember the mike troll and his alter egos.

I'm not actually sure.  Legume was the third account I tried to setup, I can't remember now what the other names were and I never got notification, so I assume they never got created but I guess I have no way of knowing.  I wonder how many accounts there are with zero posts - could be phantom accounts or really deep lurkers.

This was my third try as well, thus the stupid name...

if I can remember them, I'm going to check the other two.
