Eggfests

I would like to attend one but do not know anybody personally. Do you just introduce yourself to everybody there and ask if they belong to this forum?

You will after your first Fest.  Very easy place to meet
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

I would not recommend cooking at your first Fest.
Stick a note here asking who is going to (name of fest) and you will have a few friends before it starts.

A lot of the cooks are on the forum. Also, pick the eggfest that you want to go to and post a thread letting everyone know which you'll be going to and who else might be going.

Just be leery of a guy that goes by the name of Little Steven.  ;)

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Do the participants wear name tags to match names and faces?

Not at the ones I've been to. I doubt that you'll find that at many.

Salado did and my local one does.

When I went to Brisket Camp last year, they all just said "I'm with stupid" and had an arrow pointing to the right.
