Range Hood over XL BGE

Hey guys, I'm building a pool house with a full kitchen.  My Egg will be mounted as part of the counter and I'm trying to find a hood/vent to place over it at an affordable price.  Anyone have an idea?  Like all of you know, when cooking with wood there's a lot of smoke and I want to get it outside.  I've seen websites which sell nice stainless one's but they all start at $1000 and go up from there.  What I'd really like to see is a hood with ductwork going through the ceiling and the exhaust motor mounted near the exit point to keep the noise to a minimum.

To get the amount of air movement you need, you'll never be able to have the fan on the exhaust point. Fans that can handle this task are expensive and there isn't much that can be done to bring down the cost.

$1K is cheap for anything worth its salt. If you're truly serious about ventilation/exhaust PM me later and I'll guide you in the right direction.

I have a 1200cfm double-motor kitchenaid for which I paid close to $1800. this thing will suck the house inside-out on high and uses a 10" duct. In addition, I bought an "inline" vent fan option - fan either goes in the overhead unit or in the ceiling, but because of some challenges in the ceiling, ended up pulling the fan out of the optional box and installing directly in the overhead unit. Would have loved to have had it in the ceiling, but just wouldn't fit.  You can always opt for an external fan unit (sits on top of the house).

I am looking for a cheapo overhead to install in my garage for those days when I don't feel like getting wet :)

How about something like a bathroom fan? Have a tin knocker put together a hood for you.

@Sundown A Fart Fan for a makeshift hood exhaust?  I wouldn't recommend it for a variety of reasons but....

Average bathroom exhaust is 60-100cfm on a good day with no clean out for grease/smoke. A decent exhaust for a hood will be around 1,200-1,800 CFM and have a way to clean it out.

The set-up I "want" would run me around $2,500-$3,300 (my cost at wholesale) and would rival any serious commercial restaurant. Maybe one day but, today ain't that day.  That said I'll use nature's exhaust  it fits my budget better.
