Cooking regular bacon

since cooking bacon really stinks up the house (the wife says). Was wondering about cooking regular bacon. Not making bacon from bellies but cooking bacon that comes from the store on the egg. Suggestions? do I need a fryer dish?

Have you ever done it in the oven? Baking pan with a wire rack and lay bacon over the rack set at 350℉-375℉. Can do the same in the egg if desired.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Totally agree, I only make bacon in the oven, put in on parchment paper on a cookie sheet, works real well!NPHuskerFL said:Have you ever done it in the oven? Baking pan with a wire rack and lay bacon over the rack set at 350℉-375℉. Can do the same in the egg if desired.Toronto, Canada LBGE -
@YYZegger That's how most restaurants do it unless it's short order on a flat top grille. Less mess and it's much faster.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Direct like Chilly showed works great too. Only thing is if you do a lot it will really smoke due to all the bacon fat hitting the hot coals.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Raw bacon is the only bad baconSalado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

I line a cookie sheet with foil, lay the bacon flat and set oven to 425f. I don't wait for it to preheat. Shortly after reaching temp it is usually done.

did the bacon on the egg - turned out real well!

did the pig candy bacon and could not find the hefty cookie pan that the nakedwhiz recommended. actually I still cant find it. Had to bend an old throw away pan. any recommendations on something that will fit on the egg so I can do the elevated tray as the nakedwhiz recommends?

I think the whiz is using the disposable grill toppers and bends those. I think any pan under should work. I typically just use a disposable 1/2 steam table pan and set a rack on top of that. I happen to have a shallow roasting rack that works well instead of the disposable topper.
