Lanai

I am considering adding a BGE at our Florida home. However, our lanai has a large screened enclosure and I am concerned with the screen trapping too much smoke.  Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

    Joe, I have an XL & a mini in our lanai. No issue with the screen trapping the smoke at all.  Only issue I had when we moved into our home was that the smoke stained the ceiling over where I had the egg. Now I just roll it over to directly under the screen and no more staining. The staining came off anyway once I pressure washed it.

    Get the egg. You will love having it in Florida. You can cook year round down here. I cook on mine at least three days a week all year.

    Yes. It'll trap the smoke and all the juicy cooking grease that is accompanied with said smoke. In other words it will stain the ceiling and everything around it.  If I had it my way I'd have a 60"-72" hood installed. If only I knew somebody that could do it :wink: 
    That said I roll mine out and I have a mother nature hood that I don't have to worry about maintenance on.

    Is yours like a pool enclosure with a screened roof or like mine with a conventional roof and then screened?  Mine also a has white vinyl ceiling. If it's like a pool enclosure I can't imagine it being an issue.

    Thanks for the replies! Our roof is screen that encloses the lanai and pool etc. so it sounds like the smoke won't be an issue. I love my BGE in Iowa.
