Trader Joe's Pizza

Will I was at Trader Joe's a little over a week ago and picked up some pre-made pizza crust and some ingredients to cook pizza. I finally cooked them this last Friday for dinner. They good, especially the garlic and herb crust. I think I still like the 00 pizza flower used last time more, but these were good. My next pre-made crust to try out is Papa Murphy's. I was told you can buy the dough to make your own pizzas. I know it is cheating a little, but when you are in a pinch they are still good. Sorry about some of the photos being out of focus. I was using my phone and didn't have enough light and I need a new phone.

Yeah, if I'm not in the mood to make my dough, I would buy it fresh from a local pizza place.

When I used to buy their dough, the plain white was the best. As much as I wanted the whole wheat or other flavors to give good results, they just didn't crisp up with the same consistency. I've found that with other brands as well. Gotta be the white.

Why get the Papa Murphy's dough and then make it yourself? Their pizzas are so cheap. After you get all the ingredients together and time at the store, etc, etc you're probably out more than if you just bought it assembled from them. I'd just buy it and cook it on the Egg. Then again, I like their white sauce and haven't been able to duplicate it yet.

They told me they use ranch dressing as a base for their white sauce.
The first time I did pizza I made my own crust and made Chicken Mediterranean with ranch dressing as the sauce. My neighbor said this taste like Papa Murphy's.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo. -

Something nicer about all the variables you can change if you roll out your own dough (pizza size, shell thickness) and select your own toppings and the amount of them. And the quality of the toppings of course. And freshly assembled ingredients have to give a better result than one that has been sitting all together for a week as moist things get drier and dry things get moisture (humidity of all ingredients will equalize in the packaging).
But that's just me.
Fun to make and of course the risk of total failure.

I have just bought Papa Murphy's pizza before and cooked them on the egg before. They are better on the egg and not as greasy. They are better then a frozen pizza to me, but making your own crust and buying great ingredients is even better.
