Ok. I'll be the first to go. I wanted to do something a little different than the standard grilled/smoked All American fare so I thought "what's more All American than a corn dog?" I had a pack of SRF Kobe Hot Dogs and a little ambition so the decision was made. I cut each dog into thirds and grilled them direct to bring out the flavor. Dipped in a homemade corn meal batter and deep fried to perfection using the medium wok. I made cornbread funnel cake bites with the remaining batter and topped with powdered sugar. Easily the best corndog I've ever had and the funnel cake bites were awesome enough to be in the permanent appetizer rotation. Who doesn't like an appetizer that takes 3 minutes to cook? I'm sure the pictures will not come out in order.

Ok so we are moving and things are hectic so I'm pulling double duty with this entry. It's the nachos I posted. Not originally American but what is?!? America is a melting pot of all different cultures and I consider Mexican inspired food American to me (end of shameless justification of cook).
I cooked these chicken, chorizo and vegetable nachos. Chicken marinated in chipotles in adobo, bud light (USA, USA!!!) lime juice and olive oil overnight. Assembled and onto egg. These were easily over 12# so the gluttony factor is pretty American too!

Here's my drunken attempt at the throwdown. Plenty of prep photos, but nothing plated.
I did a brisket, hot and fast beef ribs, sausages, and chicken. Beer was, uh, selected for nostalgic reasons. PBR tallboy, Coors stubbies, and gluten free beer for swmbo. Also, Jose Cuervo traditional, and a local Belgian beer. (that's the problem).
Cooked the brisket hotter than I had in the past, 275, and was my best result yet. It was the 'tallest' (thickest point) I could find also, not sure if that matters. I didn't want one where the flat just goes on for miles.
This was the day of the big flood in Texas, and we lost power, so my heatermeter was useless. Cooked old school.
Once I got the brisket ftc'd around 8am, I prepped the chicken and ribs (fridge photo earlier). The party got pushed too two, no issue. Started the ribs and chicken at 1, and cracked a pbr.
Both eggs going!
Here is the last food pic. I meant to get a plated photo, and a photo of the spread but never did.
Swmbo made chimichurri and Pico De Gallo for the ribs, and we had classic Stubbs, candy Krisp jalapenos, pickles and wonder bread for the brisket. We told the friends to bring sides.
The sun was out, and the golf course behind us empty..We called the pro, he let us on for free, we just played the back 9. Brought too many beers, and raided our houses as we passed. I was in bed by 8, sunny side up.
Ask SWMBO if she's happy... Not so much.
Brisket, pbr, golf, pissed wife- That's an all American weekend my friends!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Austin, Texas. I'm the guy holding a beer. -
Basic grilled chicken, with red skins, and grilled corn.
Chicken was cooked with chipotle seasoning and brushed with a little Stubbs. Redskins had garlic, onion salt pepper and some bacon. Corn was grilled and finished with a little butter with herbs and season salt. Not fancy but just wanted to give it a try.

There is nothing more American than pork & peaches! The glaze was made with a base of peach preserves and siracha hot sauce. The chops were cooked direct for an initial sear, then the plate setter was added to convert to an indirect heat to finish them off. they were pulled at IT of 145F.

To start, Im sorry for my tardiness in this throw down. Jumped through some hoops, but I think I have all the pics I need for this one. I have to say, these are some tough acts to follow, but here it goes…

I did a three course meal.
First round is an appetizer sampler consisting of three appetizers that I consider american favorites.
BBQ Chicken Wings, Burnt Ends, and Sliders
The Wings were seasoned with @MeatChurch Deez Nuts and sauces with a pepper jelly glaze.
The Burnt Ends were originally seasoned with @MeatChurch Holy Cow and then finished in a 50/50 of aju and stubs bbq sauce.
The Cheeseburger Silders where done three ways. One American cheese and bacon, one bleu cheese and buffalo sauce, and one cheddar cheese and bacon wrapped onion ring with bbq sauce.
The main course was a combination of south west and north east. A Philly cheese steak made with Texas brisket. The brisket was rubbed with Holy Cow and smoked over oak. I sliced it thin and stacked it with caramelized onions, roasted red and green peppers and topped with provolone cheese (I'm from jersey, I know a REAL cheese steak has cheese whiz on it, but no, not mine) all on a toasted hoagie roll. All of that served with a side of tots.
Finally, dessert. Grilled Georgia peaches (according to my local grocery store, I paid for Ga. peaches) with vanilla bean ice cream topped with a mint and brown sugar Tennessee bourbon sauce.
Did I mention I made my own pretzel rolls?
MERICA!

Ok, no Stars and Stripes in my pics, but the wife and kids declared victory, so I'm a winner!
What's more Americana than burgers and fries? Krystal burgers and fries( White Castle to you non-southerners).
I think this is my first two egg cook. Fries on the wok on the mm. Worked perfectly.
Pics vanillaized.
