You picture shows conclusively that there going out of business is all smoke and mirrors.

I hope you guys enjoyed the pics. Asked a few people at the local grocery store. One girl said they sold it off, but didn't know to whom.Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now...

You would see him swimming in that cooling pile......just like Scrooge McDuck in his vault of gold coins. -
If I wasn't so honest I'd have just loaded up the vehicle bulk style. Not a soul around. There was a house at the beginning of the entrance, but I didn't want to bug anyone on a Sunday.Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now...

So, instead you went onto private property, during manufacturing, took pictures, and posted them on the internet for everyone to see?? Just sayin....

Maybe the house wasn't related? Someone waived at us, but never said a word. No business hours posted. No "no trespassing" sign.Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now...

Reminds me of the first time I went to a charcoal plant 10+ years ago. I had been trying to track this place down, and out of coincidence, I flew over it in a helicopter. I marked the lat/long on the GPS and found my way back down there. Not a soul anywhere in the middle of a work day. I never left the area around the loading dock, and 20-30 minutes later this guy covered in soot came out of the trees and yelled, "Whaddya want?!?!?!". I yelled back, "Charcoal!" and he came and loaded me up with a dozen 20# bags for $50 (or $60?). Cash only, no phone, no email. They were bought out about 5 yrs ago and that plant was immediately shuttered. It was the one featured on Dirty Jobs, season 1, episode 15......pretty dangerous what Mike Rowe did getting in that hopper. http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Algae-Man/dp/B001NYABS8

I think I'm going to send my bro back with his truck during a weekday to see if we can get a bulk load.Louisianian by birth, Louisianian by death. Austinite for now...

Let us know any info you discover. I'm down to 26 bags.

If the company sold, there's no telling where they're sourcing the raw materials from. Ozark Oak by any other management may not be the same lump we've all known in the past. I'm curious where this is going!Flint, Michigan

"Smoke and mirrors" - that was funny @Jeepster47
Good to see there may be a resurrection, like a phoenix out of the ashes... I'm always interested in seeing how things are made, and how different everything is from manufacturing to marketing. I've seen how Saturn makes aluminum engines, and it's an incredible process.
Changed my thumbnail in joy at the prospect.

BBQ is a celebration of culture in America. It is the closest thing we have to the wines and cheeses of Europe.
Drive a few hundred miles in any direction, and the experience changes dramatically.
