Kansas City BBQ Dominates Travel & Leisure Survey

Well I have to give props to my hometown again. Apparently in a Travel & Leisure survey it ranked #1 in BBQ and must visit location. The city is becoming a place to actually come for a visit and have good food. I have yet to try Q39, but it is the talk of the town and I may be stopping by this Friday for some carry-out food.

I've been traveling around a fair bit and I try BBQ pretty much everywhere I go and I can honestly say Q39 is probably my favorite BBQ restaurant in the country. I'm a huge fan of Pappy's in StL and Joe's in KC as well, but no other restaurant I know of better captures the sorts of flavors I would expect to encounter at a KCBS competition.
That said, I've only barely skimmed Carolina BBQ and really not experienced any of the most exciting places in Texas. I'm excited that there's still so much great BBQ I haven't had the chance to eat/cook/experience yet.
@Ladeback69 It's probably piling on at his point, but i would HIGHLY recommend making a trip over to 39 as soon as possible.

I am thinking of picking up some carry out tonight. I want to go there for our anniversary dinner, but SWMBO said no, but that I could get some take out from tonight though. I am also wanting to cook a brisket on Sunday so I don't know yet which way to go.Black_Badger said:

All of my friends and family fall in love with KC when they come to visit.
Q39 is pretty good. I'm still partial to Joe's myself, but I can't complain about anything Q39 does.
