Beer Can Burger Attempt on with a question

hello all-
I'll be doing my first try at my version of beer can burgers; they will be a little smaller since the 3 ladies that I live with are all pretty dainty.... And since I'm in Atlanta, I'll throw it back to our local sweetheart, Coke.
Question for the experts... Is it better to go high in the dome when cooking these style of burgers? Planning in cheddar for the kids and pepper jack for the missus and I. Sautéed peppers and vidalia onions of course!!!!
thanks all!

I go direct. Especially with fatty meat like ground beef. You wrapping in bacon? If so, I would precook the bacon some or go indirect for a bit. Good luck and post a sliced picColumbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

I just made these today. I cooked indirect at 300 For 50 minutes. Raised the temp to 350 for another 20 to an internal of 160.

These were hand formed about 1/2 pound cups stuffed with cream cheese, onions and bacon bits. Topped with cheddar. No bacon wrap and took about 45 mins indirect at 375. It was my play on this beer can burger
