New Poster; Pics of Prior Cooks
Hi all! I just passed my LBGE's first birthday and figured it is time to post and not just lurk on this forum. I've been BBQ'ing for about 15 years now and had been wanting a BGE since if first heard of it about 10 years ago. I had been using kettles, a cheapo offset, and a WSM, but since I have gotten the BGE, they have either been sold or sit dormant. In my first year with the LBGE, I have done everything from traditional BBQ (brisket, pulled pork), smoke roasted chicken, burgers, steaks, pastrami, lobster tail, pizza, bread, paella, desserts, etc. I love the BGE and its versatility. I am trying to attach some pics of my favorite cooks during my first year egging, but apologize in advance if the resolution of the pics is off. The pics show up very large on my screen. There should be:
- my first ever paella
- the best ribs I had made in my life
- an inch and 1/2 thick dry aged, prime porterhouse (bought that one when SWMBO was out of town; she would not have been happy with the price tag for that) with tater
- peach and raspberry cobbler with ice cream.
Thank you to this board for all of the guidance in this first year. The help in building and maintaining a fire has been terrific. And the recipes for most of my cooks are directly from or heavily influenced by this board. Special thanks to Ron Pratt for the replacement gasket.
I will share some more pics later assuming that this post and pics are readable.
